West Midlands Ambulance Service: Case Study

HR department goes paperless to reduce costs and improve efficiency

Each day, West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) University NHS Foundation Trust responds to around 4,000 emergency 999 callouts from a population of five million across seven UK counties. The Trust employs over 7,000 staff across 15 operational hubs, two control rooms and 12 non-emergency patient transport service sites. In 2018, the Human Resources (HR) department went paperless through an electronic archiving and document management solution from Quadient. The initiative improved efficiency, reduced costs and contributed to the Trust being selected as a Global Digital Exemplar by the NHS.
